Get to know Alyx through our short Q&A below!
What is your day job?
For 25 years I have been the founder and CEO of True North Gear and DragonWear. We make back packs and other equipment for forest firefighters, city firefighters, and search-and-rescue teams like FEMA. We also make flame resistant clothing for those groups as well as for high-voltage utility and petroleum workers. I work on product design, marketing, and finance—and I unclog the drains when needed.
What is your previous dance experience?
I have no formal dance training but I do have a life-long passion for dancing to all kinds of music.
Why are you dancing for Plymouth Housing Group?
Because you asked me to! And because I cherish the opportunity to give back to my community as often as possible and help those who may not have been as fortunate as I. Plymouth Housing offers a great way to help some of the neediest in our community and help them achieve permanent change, not just a handout.
Where are you going to put your Mirror Ball Trophy when you win?
I honestly don’t know! It’s such a momentous decision—can I get back to you on that?
